Noah®5112 clean agent Fire Protection Fluid’s full chemical name is dodecafluoro-2-methylpentan-3-one. Its ASHRAE nomenclature – the way it is designated in the NFPA and ISO 14520 clean agent standards – is FK-5-1-12. Noah®5112 fluid offers a unique combination of safety, low environmental impact and extinguishing performance, making it the only chemical halon replacement to offer a viable, long-term, environmentally sustainable technology for special hazards fire protection.
Noah®5112 is a gas of the structural formula CF3CF2C(O)CF(CF3)2. This gas suppresses a fire by inhibiting the chemical reaction of the combustible material and oxygen. It is used as a safe and efficient agent to extinguish Class A fires (solid materials), Class B fires (flammable liquids) and Higher Hazard Class A fires (solid materials energized during the extinguishment period).
◆A fire suppression system using this gas is especially suitable on account of the following:
