◆Introduction:
At normal temperature, FK-5-1-12 is colorless, transparent and insulating liquid for suppression of fire. it is the novel environmental harmonic and clean extinguishing agent. Noah5112 is listed in standard documents such as ISO14520-2006 Physical Characteristics of Gas Extinguishing System, the System Design, NFPA2001 Design Specification of Clean Gas Extinguishing System, and the application-design of the product is normatively described.
FK-5-1-12 extinguishing agent is a novel substitution of halon extinguishing agent in suppression of fire. It helps engineers and facility managers meet environmental regulations while helping ensure the safety of people, reduce risks and preserve business operations with minimal downtime. It features zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and a global warming potential (GWP) of less than 1. FK-5-1-12 also has the largest safety margin for use in occupied spaces of all clean agents. It effectively extinguishes fire faster than inert gas or water mist systems, requires less volume of fluid and is safe for use with electronics.

◆Environmental Properties
Once emitted into the environment, there are a number of ways for organic compounds to be removed from the atmosphere. Studies conducted on Noah®5112 fluid have determined the atmospheric loss rates via these removal mechanisms and the effect on the atmospheric lifetime of this compound. The very low water solubility of Noah®5112 fluid and the low degree to which it partitions into liquid water was found to preclude atmospheric hydrolysis from being a meaningful removal mechanism. The principal atmospheric sink for Noah®5112 agent is photolysis. It exhibits strong absorption of energy at near UV wavelengths, resulting in a very short atmospheric lifetime. The rate of photolysis under atmospheric conditions and the mechanism of decomposition of this compound have been investigated by two different research groups. The photolysis rate of the fluoroketone leads to an atmospheric lifetime of approximately 1 week, which is consistent with the Noah study that found the atmospheric lifetime of Noah®5112 fluid to be on the order of 5 days.
