◆How does Noah®5112 work?
Noah®5112 nfpa clean agent extinguishes fires by removing heat. All fires need heat, oxygen, and a fuel source to continue to burn. By removing any of these three elements, you can extinguish the fire. Other fire suppression agents, such as carbon dioxide, remove oxygen. Because Noah®5112 nfpa clean agent removes heat instead of oxygen, it is safer to use in occupied spaces, because it does not pose a suffocation risk for people.

◆Is Noah®5112 dangerous?
Relative to most fire suppression chemicals, Noah®5112 is not dangerous. Unlike carbon dioxide, Noah®5112 is considered safe to use in occupied spaces. That means if Noah®5112 is released inside of a room with people in it, there is no suffocation risk or other serious health impacts. Toxicity studies show that Noah®5112 fluid does not irritate the skin but may cause mild eye irritation. It is not a carcinogen.
◆What is the difference between HFC-227ea and Noah®5112?
Noah®5112 and HFC-227ea are different chemical compounds. Noah®5112 is a fluoroketone, while HFC-227ea is a heptafluoropropane (HFC). Both Noah®5112 and HFC-227ea are clean agents, and they share similar properties. However, Noah®5112 is widely regarded as more environmentally friendly than HFC-227ea, because it has a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP). Additionally, Noah®5112 is stored as a liquid, while HFC-227ea is stored as a gas.
Both Noah®5112 and HFC-227ea discharge as gases, when a fire suppression system activates. Noah®5112 and HFC-227ea are both effective at suppressing class A, B, and C fires, and they are both safe to use in occupied spaces.
