Introduction:
hfc-227ea gas is widely accepted and respected around the world, with a history of protecting the world's most crucial and irreplaceable assets. It’s used in thousands of applications—including cultural property, data centers, and critical infrastructure—across more than 70 countries.
It is low in toxicity, nonflammable, non-corrosive, and compatible with other materials. In addition, they have thermodynamic and physical properties that make them ideal for a variety of uses. One high value use of these compounds is as fire extinguishants and explosion suppressants.
It is used in hand-held portable extinguishers, total flooding systems, and local application systems. The bromofluorocarbons and bromochlorofluorocarbons (halons), which were developed in the 1930s, were linked to depletion of the earth’s protective ozone layer. As a result, these halon compounds have been phased out of production, and fire extinguishing agents, such as hfc-227ea gas, have stepped in to take their place.
Features:
Zero ozone depleting potential
Safe for use in occupied areas
Suitable for protection on a range of high value risks
Existing Halon/CO2 control systems can be adapted for use with HFC-227
Requires minimal storage space
Like Halon, no clean-up required after discharge
Low pressure system
Certificate:
UL listed and REACH registered
Applications:
hfc-227ea gas is immediately available to protect most hazards traditionally protected using Halon 1301. It is effective in the protection of data processing, telecommunications and electronic equipment as well as most flammable liquids and gases.
