Fire Extinguishing System FK-5-1-12 NOVEC

FK 5-1-12 is an odorless, colorless, non-conductive liquid that evaporates rapidly. Designed as a halon replacement. Compared to halons, it has the least environmental impact, negligible global warming effect, the lowest design concentration, and a higher safety margin. Ozone has zero impact and has an extremely low lifetime in the atmosphere, only 5 days. This makes it an environmentally friendly fire extinguishing agent.

The material is designed to protect equipment in sensitive and critical areas, including telecommunications equipment, museums, archives and more, which would suffer irreparable damage if conventional fire sprinkler systems were used.

It has the appearance of water (a liquid at atmospheric pressure), swirls and flows in a similar way without damaging the device. It's especially useful when fighting fires, where water can cause more damage than the fire itself, or in places like banks, museums, and hospitals where water simply isn't available.

Using FK 5-1-12, electronic equipment can be immersed in containers without the slightest damage - therefore, the material is widely used in fire protection systems for computer processing centers, data, etc.

The material is stored in cylinders as a liquid pressurized with nitrogen, and when vented, it becomes a colorless, odorless gas. In the system FK 5-1-12, the cylinder is pressurized with nitrogen at 24bar or 42bar (20°C). This low pressure allows the use of conventional piping and fittings to reduce installation costs.
