Noah®5112’s fire suppression solution is extinguishing fires by removing heat. All fires need heat, oxygen, and a fuel source to continue to burn. By removing any of these three elements, you can extinguish the fire. Other fire suppression agents, such as carbon dioxide, remove oxygen. Because Noah®5112 removes heat instead of oxygen, it is safer to use in occupied spaces, because it does not pose a suffocation risk for people.

What is the difference between Noah®5112 and HFC-227ea?

Noah®5112 and HFC-227ea are different chemical compounds. Noah®5112 is a fluoroketone, while HFC-227ea is a heptafluoropropane (HFC). Both Noah®5112 and HFC-227ea are clean agents, and they share similar properties. However, Noah®5112 is widely regarded as more environmentally friendly than HFC-227ea, because it has a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP). Additionally, Noah®5112 is stored as a liquid, while HFC-227ea is stored as a gas.

Both Noah®5112 and HFC-227ea discharge as gases, when a fire suppression system activates. Noah®5112 and HFC-227ea are both effective at suppressing class A, B, and C fires, and they are both safe to use in occupied spaces.
